Our Goal – Transform An Older Bathtub Into
A Safe, Modern, And Beautiful Walk-In Tub
Shirley’s bathroom is relatively old. Before we started, it had numerous safety hazards – not the least of which was a dangerous tub that you had to make a giant step over to get inside. There weren’t any handrails, the tub surface was slippery when wet… it was an accident waiting to happen.
So, we knew what we needed to do. And we had five specific focuses:
- Safety – Reduce the risk of trips, slips, and falls.
- Beauty – Transform the look of the tub to something more modern.
- Comfort – Make the tub comfortable and spacious.
- Ease of Use – Ensure getting in and out of the walk-in tub is a breeze.
- Performance – Good shower pressure and temperature control with no wasted water.
Shirley’s Personalized And Accessible Walk-In Tub
As we do with ALL wet-area bathroom remodels, we personalized Shirley’s new walk-in tub. And, while this is a giveaway, we went all out for Shirley and invested fully into the walk-in tub project.
Specifically, we ripped the old tub “down to the studs.” And then we rebuilt from scratch.
A Safety-First Approach
Given some of the challenges Shirley’s family members face, we knew we needed built-in safety features. We installed multiple handrails that make it super easy to step in and out of the tub. The grab bars make showers (in addition to baths) incredibly safe as well.
Additionally, the walk-in tub features a built-in seat. Shirley’s family can now sit down in the shower, and they don’t have to fear stumbling due to the built-in seat and the support the grab bars provide.
Easy To Use Features
Shirley’s walk-in tub features a swinging door that opens and closes easily. Shirley’s family can effortlessly step in and out of the tub, and It keeps water in perfectly during showers and baths.
This walk-in tub also features a detachable shower head that freely and easily moves as you need.
A Beautiful Design
Shirley and her family deserve a functional AND beautiful walk-in tub. And while we focused heavily on the safety and ease-of-use components, we also ensured a stunning bathtub design.
Our team installed a beautiful marble pattern wall surround that catches your eye as soon as you walk into the bathroom. And the elegant and modern tub design provides a classy and clean feel.
